Lucy’s story begins right here in San Antonio — where her parents, born and raised in the city, built a life grounded in hard work, service, and family values. As migrant workers and part of the César Chávez movement, they taught her the meaning of dedication and perseverance. Married for over 59 years, Lucy’s parents are a testament to the strength and stability that come from love and commitment.
Carrying that same foundation forward, Lucy and her husband have been married for 20 years, both proudly serving Bexar County for nearly three decades. Together, they’ve raised two children and continued a legacy of service, faith, and family.
With roots in San Antonio tracing back to the early 1900s, Lucy’s family represents generations of hard work, community involvement, and unwavering commitment — the very values that continue to shape who she is today.
